Benzyl Alcohol & Salicylic Acid & Glycerin & Sorbic Acid - This is a preservative also known as Geogard. Contributes an added skin moisturisation benefit to any blend/product whilst conforming with COSMOS, NATRUE and the Soil Association. Polysorbate 80 - a synthetic ingredient which emulsifies (helps combine oil and water) and also a surfactant (foams) . It prevents essential oils and other oils separating from other ingredients.

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate - also known as SCI. A mild  and gentle vegetable derived cleanser unlikely to cause skin irritation. Used more for cleansing than lather.

Sodium Lactate - a sodium salt derived from the fermentation of a sugar source, usually vegetable based. Is commonly used as a humectant, pH adjuster and moisturiser in personal and home care products and to harden cold process soap (although I do not use it in my soap)

Sodium Lauryl Sulphoacetate - also known as SLSA. It is derived from Coconut and Palm Oils and is sulfate-free. It is a very mild and gentle cleanser and also creates lather without skin irritation. SLSA is approved for use in Ecocert certified products.
