A New Chapter and a New Focus

After nearly nine years, it felt like time for a change.

Running two businesses, The Dog and I and The Soap Coach  has been an incredible journey, but I reached a point where I needed to be more realistic about how I was using my time and energy. I wanted to find a way to work sustainably, without compromising on the quality of what I offer or the level of support I give to my clients.

With that in mind, I’m excited to share a new chapter for The Dog and I.

My focus has shifted away from retail grooming products and towards what has always worked well for me,  natural dog balms and salves, now offered through wholesale, unlabelled bulk packs, and white label options for pet businesses.

Why the Change?

This isn’t a sudden pivot it’s more of an evolution to create a business that I am excited about.

For years, I’ve loved creating natural, effective products that dog owners trust. Alongside that, I’ve gained skills and experience that I wanted to use more intentionally. As a certified business strategist, I understand how important brand visibility and consistency are, especially for small businesses trying to stand out and I wanted to bring those two things together.

With strong reviews and loyal repeat customers, the balms and salves are practical, well made products and they really do lean in to my love of 100% natural. They’re the kind of thing you can confidently put your own branding on. By narrowing my focus, I can support other dog businesses with products that genuinely fit their brand and values.

These aren’t just products for the sake of it, they’re practical solutions for everyday issues, and they’re easy for businesses to market under their own brand. You’re free to name them in a way that suits your audience too. for example, a nose balm could just as easily become Wrinkle Buster.

Each product is handmade using plant-based butters and oils, alongside botanicals such as calendula, rosehip, plantain and hemp oil. These ingredients were chosen because they work. The reviews over the years reflect that, with customers consistently commenting on quality and effectiveness.

A Local Touch, Done Properly

For branded and white label options, I work with my trusted local printer, who I’ve partnered with for nearly ten years. He understands small businesses, pays attention to detail, and produces labels that look professional without feeling over-produced.

Design fees are kept reasonable, and the finished result is something you can genuinely be proud to put on your shelves.
