Wholesale Unlabelled Dog Balms & Salves FAQ
I know you probably have a ton of questions around how this works so here are the most FAQ and I will add to it as we go.
What do I need to include on the label? To be compliant with the CLP legislation you must include the weight, allergens, your business name, house name or number, postcode and telephone number. Please also include the Keep Out Of Reach of Children wording. You don't have to include all the ingredients or you could use a QR code back to your website for those. You can choose your own product names but you cannot make medical claims (clinical trials are required for that). If in doubt, pop me a message with any questions. I cannot help with design however, only a check. You must also include a batch number which will be supplied after purchase. This can be handwritten on your labels if preferred.
Can I mix and match the sizes/colours/scents? No. These are only available in the specified pack sizes. This means I can keep costs low and the service fast.
Is there a discount for larger orders? There is a built in discount if you order the larger pack sizes. If you would like to place a larger order (£500 plus) please do get in touch to discuss and I will do my best to help.
Can you do the labels for me? Yes I offer a complete 'Done For You' service. Please see my white catalogue for details on how all that works. You can request a copy here. It will arrive by email within a few minutes.
Do I need my own insurance to sell these? Yes you will need product liability insurance. I retain my responsibilities ( and all the associated paperwork and audit trail) as the manufacturer, but as a seller you still need your own insurance.
Where can I get my labels printed? For very small print runs, I would suggest looking at Etsy or Ebay. You will need to use a site such as Canva to design your own and upload the image for print, For larger orders search for 'sticker printing low MOQ' and several companies will be able to help. Avery is great for larger orders and you can create your design on their website too. If you are likely to place ongoing orders for the same product I would recommend you order a larger number of labels intiially for a better price. Leave the batch number off and you can handwrite that on each time with an ultrafine permanent pen (how I do it).
Do I need to have stickers on the tins? Is there an easier way of labelling? Article 31(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) states the label must be fixed to the packaging that contains the product, so unfotunately that means no bags or boxes with a card or label attached only.
How much is delivery? A flat £3.50 regardless of the order size. Most orders will be sent by Royal Mail tracked 48.
